Winging It Right: Our Delicious Dive into Wingmill

If you’re craving a slice of Americana by the beach, Wingmill in Dee Why is the place to be. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we’d stepped into a buzzing bar somewhere in the heart of the U.S. with big screens with live sports, cool vintage vibes, and that unmistakable aroma of crispy, saucy goodness in the air.

Let’s talk food. Because wow.

We kicked things off with the poutine, a bowl of rich, savoury comfort. I mean seriously – chips and gravy, a legendary combo in its own right and then it gets levelled up even further with the addition of cheese – this was love at first sight. Perfectly crisp fries drenched in gravy and cheese curds that were browned and crispy on top. Full of flavour, it was the kind of dish that had us fighting for the last forkful.

Next came more cheese with the sourdough cheese melt. Now I was not that excited about ordering this one but let me tell you, this was no ordinary toastie. Charred just right on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, it hit every note you want in a grilled cheese. Crunchy, creamy, cheesy heaven.

And then… the wings. Oh, the wings.

We tried three kinds.

🐔 Buffalo – A classic done right. Tangy, spicy, finger-lickin’ good.
🐔 Parmesan and Garlic – Total surprise hit! Savoury, bold, and probably our unexpected favourite.
🐔 Honey Chipotle – Sweet with a smoky kick. The flavour depth here was unreal.

Not to be outdone, the chicken tenders were insanely tender (pun totally intended) with a crunchy coating and seasoning that made them stand out even next to all those wings.

The service? Friendly and fast. The vibe? Electric. It’s casual, it’s fun, it’s a little loud in the best way, and it feels like somewhere you’d happily settle in for hours with good company and a big appetite.

Whether you’re in it for the wings, the cheesy comfort food, or just want to feel like you’re sitting in an American sports bar without leaving the Northern Beaches, Wingmill delivers.
